An experience with Synology DS211
Cheney 用了NAS一段時間，真的覺得不錯用，Synology DS211對個人來說算是CP值很高的產品
可以用不到一萬塊台幣就擁有NAS功能，在家裡算是真的很夠用了
就讓Cheney再來介紹一下他的功能吧
Cheney has used the Synology DS211 around 6 months, and it is really a good product, therefore, Cheney would like to share some experiences with you guys. It is really worth to have for personal using at home or for small business such as personal studio. The setting is easy and the operating is not complex !
So, the following are some experience Cheney would like to share with you
支援BT與emule下載 Support BT and eMule download (Don't ask where I can downloadHello Potter! :P)
以Synology DS211來說下載的速度大概可以到1M/s 左右(不過這取決於你的網路環境與下載資源那邊的頻寬啦) Cheney 用的是10M/2M的光世代，速度的話大概都在照片的這個速度左右(這是狀況比較好的下載資源的情況下)，最高可以飆到1M多啦...但是真的不容易....
The download speed depends on your internet infrastructure, the fastest speed Cheney experienced was around 1M/sec, Cheney's internet infrastructure is 10M/2M optical. Most of the time the speed is similar to the following photo.
DS211裡面的功能不少...可以讓你加裝套件.....也可以做系統資源監控
可以加裝的套件的話....Cheney覺得對在菜籃國工作的TK(台客) 最有用的就是VPN啦
可以翻牆啊........當然啦...你的這台NAS 是要架在台灣才有用的......
Of course, DS211 has lots of application in it, you can add some too. The latest application is VPN, which is very useful for the people worked or lived in China, you can across "the Wall", but you do need have a DS211 operating outside of China.
支援PPTP 與Open VPN, Support PPTP and Open VPN
看很多功能吧!只用來抓愛情動作片是很可惜的啦!

媒體伺服器可以讓在同網域的媒體播放器播放DS211裡面的媒體檔案
Cheney的PS3就可以播放DS211裡面的電影,影集......可惜PS3有很多檔案不支援啦......
the DLNA, iTunes, Audio Station, and Photo Station allow you can access the multimedia files in DS211, Cheney had PS3 within the same internal domins, therefore, Cheney can uses PS3 to play the movie and other multimedia files in DS211. However, PS3 does not support some kind of files( Such as mkv, rmvb)...Pity!
Surveillance station可以讓你加裝cam 監視器....等於說你也可以架設簡單的監控系統啦....
不過要買他有支援的cam才行.....也只能裝一支....多的要跟Synology 買授權
mailstation 讓你可以架設郵件伺服器.....這對小公司或個人工作室是不錯的選擇
You can also add a cam to do the monitor function! Mail station allow you to build up a mail server...this is good for small business!
也可以設定定時開機與關機........
you can setup the turn on and turn off time with schedule
可以看硬碟的溫度與系統的溫度
Allow you monitor hard drive's operating temperature
